INGREDIENTS
package of medium-firm tofu, cut into pieces
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon chili peper flakes
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
2 scallions, chopped
DIRECTIONS
Dry the tofu with paper towel to absorb as much moisture as possible. Place a few tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, place the tofu in, making sure not to overcrowd (pan fry in two batches, if necessary). Cook the tofu until all sides are golden brown and crispy, and set aside on a large plate.
In a small sauce pan, heat the remaining ingredients until it slightly boils, and then remove from heat and spoon the sauce on top of the pan-fried tofu.
